We’re the practitioners to get you there!

At Ruhe Fertility + Prenatal Acupuncture Center, we believe 75% of women have the ability to conceive naturally. The key is to find the factors that are hindering you from achieving conception. We look at a whole host of conditions that can cause infertility, like:

  • Menstrual cycle irregularity – Short or long menstrual cycles, cramping, excessive clotting, and length of bleeding
  • Cycle length irregularity – Cycles that are not always 28 days or consistent to a specific length
  • Ovulatory irregularity – Sooner than day 12 of the cycle, later then day 16 of the cycle, spotting, bleeding, excessive pain or no surge on ovulation strips
  • Emotional well being – Stressed, anxious, depressed and more
  • Irregular sleep patterns – Sleeping during the day or for excessive amounts of time
  • Overall health and eating habits – Diet, sugar intake, exercise, supplementation
  • Gynecological disorders – Endometriosis, uterine polyps, uterine fibroids, PCOS, an-ovulation, blocked Fallopian tubes, thin uterine lining and more
  • Autoimmune disorders – Hashimoto’s, MTFHR, natural killer cells and more
  • Recurrent miscarriage – Hormonal imbalances, thyroid disorders, cervical insufficiency, diabetes, gynecological disorders, genetic abnormalities, immunological and environmental causes

Pre-conception

Prior to conception, our objective is to help you regulate and enhance your menstrual cycles, promote robust ovulation, enhance your overall health and support your emotional well-being. This will result in you becoming more fertile.

Numerous research, The World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) support findings on how acupuncture can help regulate your menstrual cycle, balance your reproductive hormones, promote ovulation, increase circulation to your reproductive organs and reduce stress.

Here are a few important studies on how acupuncture can improve fertility:

Effects of acupuncture on pregnancy rates in women undergoing in vitro fertilization: a systematic review and meta-analysis by Cui Hong Zheng, Guang Ying Huang, Ming Min Zhang, Wei Wang

Assessment of Laser Biostimulation in Induction of Ovulation by Mohamed A. El-Nourya, Mahmoud B. El-Begawyb, Mona E. Morsyc, and Ehab M. Al Sherbineyd

Quantitative evaluation of spermatozoa ultrastructure after acupuncture treatment for idiopathic male infertility by Jian Pei, Erwin Strehler, Ulrich Noss, Markus Abt, Paola Piomboni, Baccio Baccetti, Karl Sterzik

Acupuncture and other treatments provided at Fertility and Prenatal Acupuncture Center are designed to:

  • Increase the blood flow to the ovaries and uterus
  • Increase the thickness of the uterine lining
  • Regulate and enhance menstrual cycles
  • Improve ovarian function and increase egg quality
  • Improve sperm count, motility and morphology
  • Balance endocrine and thyroid hormones
  • Regulate the central nervous system and HPA axis to reduce stress

We create a customized treatment plan designed for our patients to experience significant improvements within 90 days. The factors that are likely hindering you are very responsive to our integrative approach, which is both research-based and time-tested.

Where your fertility journey begins…

  1. Initial Consultation: This is the foundation to know more about your reproductive health and most importantly, your goals. Our clinician will go over your case, fertility and general history, blood work analysis, medications and supplements you’re taking and more. You and the clinician will go over the steps of care and findings that are hindering your chances of conception.
  2. Insurance: As we are an out-of-network provider, insurance verification is required to know if your insurance plan has coverage toward our services. Click here to submit your information and we will contact you within 24-48 business hours.
  3. Treatment Plan: Once you’ve completed your initial consultation and made the decision to move forward, the next step is to review your treatment plan. At this time you and the clinician will go into detail about your treatment plan, the frequency of sessions, what to expect from each session, dietary recommendations, supplements and herbal prescription with easy-to-follow instructions.
  4. Treatment Sessions: You will come in for your regular sessions (frequency discussed on your Initial consult and Onboarding call). You can expect the frequency of appointments to be two times a week for the first 12 weeks and one time a week following consecutive appointments. As we also specialize in prenatal care, once pregnancy has been achieved, sessions during the first trimester are once a week, the second trimester every other week and the third trimester once a week.
  5. Monthly Follow-Up Call: Between day 1 to day 3 of each cycle, you will have a follow-up call with the clinician to review your past cycle BBT, supplements, herbal remedies, blood work and all other concerns to ensure your treatment protocol is on track with stable improvements towards a conceivable cycle.

You’ll find that Fertility and Prenatal Acupuncture is different than other centers in the following ways:

  • We know that everyone’s fertility journey is different and will work with you to develop treatment strategies that are unique to you.
  • For the best results, we base your treatments on the phases of your menstrual cycle. The focus of each treatment may change based on where you are in your cycle. This results in a highly customized experience that’s designed just for you.
  • We’re happy to coordinate our care with that of fertility clinics or other healthcare providers.
  • We’re well-trained and experienced in treating conditions that may impact your fertility. This includes diminished ovarian reserve, premature ovarian failure, luteal phase defect, miscarriages, PCOS and endometriosis. We also have a long history of working with male factor infertility.
  • We understand the importance of bringing calm and positive mental health into what is often a stressful time. This focus is reflected in our treatments and philosophy.

Deciding to become pregnant is a big decision. We get it. And our greatest joy is helping you every step of the way to achieving your goal of becoming pregnant. If you’d like to know more about how we can help you, give us a call today!
